When you eat, you shouldn’t have to worry about getting sick. That's why we work to make sure your food is safe to eat. Through our work with food handlers, restaurants, and other businesses, we help to prevent food-related illness.

Our job is to:

  • Certify people to serve food safely.
  • Inspect and educate businesses to make sure food is stored, handled, cooked and served safely.
  • Investigate and respond to food-related illness outbreaks.
