Overview

Chikungunya is a disease caused by a virus spread by mosquitoes. It most often occurs in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific Islands. Travel-associated cases have occurred in the United States. Symptoms include fever, joint pain, headache, muscle pain and rash.
