Take steps to make sure kids aren’t exposed to lead.

Exposure to lead and lead poisoning can harm the health of children. Possible lifelong effects include impairment to their cognitive and physical abilities. Lead can be in the environment in your home, childcare center or at school.

Your doctor can help you decide if you should have your child's blood tested for lead. You may want to test the water, dirt and paint in your home.
