Store your firearms—safely.

Pierce County had 793 suicides from 2013-2017. We have one of the highest rates of veteran suicides in the state. Access to a firearm:

  • Triples the risk of suicide death.
  • Often leads to suicide completion.

Suicide deaths often go up around the holidays. Safe firearm storage protects children, reduces the risk of firearm injury, and saves lives.

We partnered with local sporting goods stores, law enforcement, and the University of Washington’s Forefront suicide prevention program to promote safe firearm storage. Visit one of our events to get a free firearm lock box or trigger lock.
