Helping Pierce County achieve better health

We work to prevent chronic disease so people can live longer, healthier lives. Chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer are often preventable. These diseases are common, costly and lead to early death or a reduced quality of life. Chronic diseases cause significant hardship to low-income and disadvantaged communities.

Pierce County residents face higher rates of heart disease and diabetes compared to the rest of Washington State. Read the 2017 Pierce County Chronic Disease Report and Action Plan.
