Learn money-saving tips for your septic system

Free workshop shows you how septic systems work and proper maintenance for them.

Post Date:05/29/2019 9:48 a.m.

TACOMA, Wash.–Learn what makes your septic system tick and how to keep it running like clockwork. Attend the TappsWise Septic Social on June 8, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at 2009 Sumner Tapps Highway E., Lake Tapps. Experts will show you how to save money on your system and keep it healthy, which keeps contamination out of the environment.

You will have the opportunity to see what your septic system looks like inside. The workshop includes a tour of working septic systems. You’ll be able to see:

  • Inside a septic tank.
  • The different components and how they work.
  • How to maintain your septic system and do basic troubleshooting.

“Your septic system can last a long time with proper maintenance,” said Leigh McIntire, Health Department program manager. “Regular inspections are the best way to find problems early and help avoid costly repairs,” he said.

Experts from A Advanced Septic & Construction Services will answer your questions and give advice on how to protect your investment in your septic system. Enjoy snacks and coffee at the free workshop plus learn how to get discounts on septic services. Reserve your spot for the workshop. Questions? Contact Tina Friedrich at tfriedrich@tpchd.org or (253) 798-4715.

The workshop is part of the TappsWise program, a partnership between Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and Cascade Water Alliance to help residents protect the water quality of Lake Tapps. Learn more at www.tpchd.org/tappswise. Learn more about septic system maintenance at www.tpchd.org/om
