The Office of Vital Records is now located in the main building at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, 3629 South D Street, Tacoma, WA 98418. The Office of Vital Records is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

You can now order the following Birth and Death Certificates issued in Washington online through the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, Office of Vital Records:

• All Washington births.
• Death records issued from the Electronic Death Registration System for Pierce, Clallam, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Skagit, Thurston, Benton-Franklin, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Lincoln, San Juan, Spokane, Pacific, Yakima and Walla Walla Counties.
• Death records from 1907 to present for City of Tacoma.
• Death records from 1925 to present for Pierce County.

Death certificates and permits for burial and cremation may be issued to include permits for removal of remains and transfer of remains to other counties, states or countries.
