Domestic Violence Prevention
What is Domestic Violence? Domestic Violence is a pattern of assault and coercive behaviors that adults or adolescents use against their intimate partners. These behaviors may include:
- Physical attacks
- Sexual assault
- Psychological or emotional abuse
- Economic coercion
These behaviors are used by one person to gain and maintain power and control over the other person.
What can we do about it Everyone has a role to play in preventing domestic violence. Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department is working on several projects that work toward creating a coordinated community response to domestic violence. Find out more about what YOU can do to help.
