What, When and Where
Medicine return units are available at participating pharmacies and law enforcement agencies throughout Pierce County. These units are conveniently located for the public to drop off medications during business hours. Please ask the pharmacist or law enforcement desk clerk if you have questions.
Instructions:
- Review the list of accepted items;
- Controlled Substances such as narcotics, sedatives and other psychotherapeutic drugs are ONLY accepted at participating law enforcement agencies. Some common prescriptions that would be considered controlled substances are:
- Vicodin,
- Percocet,
- Oxycodone;
- Keep medications in their original containers;
- Ensure caps and lids are secure;
- Blacken-out any personal information on the containers;
- If returning liquid medications- place the medications in a disposable zip-lock bag.
