Family Support Task Force Recruitment

Funding shortfalls have required Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to closely examine the funding for, effectiveness and placement of multiple programs, including family support services. Tacoma-Pierce County Board of Health is seeking curious, critical thinkers to serve on a high-level, ad hoc task force to advise the Board of Health on the future need for, structure, and funding of family support services in Pierce County.

The Task Force will include no more than 15 community members that represent diverse perspectives, including those who represent foundations, research-based institutions, education, service providers, business and healthcare as well as elected officials and consumers.

Time Commitment: Approximately eight hours per month (weekly meetings and subcommittee work) Sept. -Nov. 2013.

You need to be able to receive communication by phone and/or e-mail and have some comfort in communicating ideas in a group setting.

  1. Relevant Experience: Please list any experience, education or employment that may be relevant to serving on the Task Force.
  2. Interest: Why are you interested in serving on the Task Force?
  3. Contribution/Perspective: What perspective(s) would you bring and contributions you think you can make to the Task Force?
  4. Commitment: What other significant commitments do you anticipate while serving on this Task Force, and how will you manage the weekly time commitment?
