Important Protection: Children Should Receive Second H1N1 Dose

March 25, 2010

Tacoma - Children six months to 10 years of age need two doses of H1N1 vaccine!

If your child has received one dose, but hasn't received the second, now is the time. The second dose fully protects them from the H1N1 (Swine) Flu.

H1N1 cases began appearing in Pierce County in the spring of 2009, so there is a possibility that new cases could occur this spring. The best way to protect your children is to make sure they are fully immunized against the disease.

Ask your child's pediatrician for the next vaccination, check availability at your neighborhood pharmacy or come to the Community Flu Clinic at the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department on Wednesday, March 31, 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Prevention is the best medicine!
