TACOMA | October 19, 2009 | NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at 5:00 PM, in the Health Department Auditorium, to take comments on the following:

Regulations Revisions, Non-Project Action. Tacoma-Pierce County Board of Health (Health Department) exists under state law to preserve, promote and improve public health, and to control and prevent contagious and infectious disease. Under that authority, the Health Department is proposing to adopt and/or revise six separate regulations to clarify and improve their function. The six regulations relate to the following programs:

  • Drinking Water
  • On-site Sewage
  • Underground Storage Tank
  • Contaminated Properties
  • Infectious Waste
  • General Provisions

The regulations will assist the Health Department to more effectively preserve, promote and improve public health, and to control and prevent contagious and infectious disease. The proposed regulation changes have been prepared to comply with existing laws. The changes do not conflict with any local, state, or federal laws or requirements, and in many cases have been proposed to clarify existing laws and requirements.

Purpose: The purpose of the public hearing is to allow all interested persons an opportunity to provide comments about the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department's revised environmental health regulations. If you are not able to attend the hearing but wish to provide your comments, please submit your comments in writing to Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department at address listed below by 4:00 p.m. November 20, 2009.
