Smoking in Public Places
Tacoma Pierce County Health Department is responsible for assuring that all affected businesses in Pierce County are smoke-free. Businesses that continue to allow indoor smoking at their establishments and outdoor smoking within 25 feet of doors and windows may be fined and face legal action as described in the Smoking in Public Places (RCW 70.160) law. No Smoking signs must be conspicuously posted at their establishments. The law went into effect December 8, 2005. To submit a smoking complaint, click here.
