Apply using a paper application:

Application and payment must be received or postmarked at least 14 calendar days before the event to avoid a late fee.  

  • Step 1:
    Review Fee Schedule and Requirements to Operate. Determine your permit category.
     
  • Step 2:
    Complete Temporary Food Establishment Permit Application.

  • Step 3:
    Submit application:
    • In person: Bring application and payment to Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, 3629 South D Street in Tacoma. You can pay with cash, business check, money order, Visa or MasterCard.
       
    • By mail: Mail application and payment to Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, 3629 South D Street, MS 1059, Tacoma, WA 98418. You can pay with business check or money order. 
  • Step 4:
    Print Requirements to Operate. Instruct all employees to read and sign. Have available for review during inspection.

  • Step 5:
    Receive permit by email or mail (as indicated in your application). Post for review during inspection.
