Farmers Markets

Participating at a Farmers Market?
Check out the information below!

To establish a farmers market, the coordinator must submit the Coordinator Application at least 30 days before the market starts with the appropriate fee.

Coordinator Application

The market coordinator will submit an approved vendor list to Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and any vendors on that list are allowed to submit the vendor application to sell, sample or serve open food at the market.

Refer to the Farmers Market Guidelines document to determine which application you need.

Vendor Application

Courtesy Application This application will be used by vendors that are sampling commercially prepared products that do not require temperature control. These vendors are not required to pay a permit fee, however they are required to complete the application and meet sanitation requirements.

New food code: what it means for Farmers Market vendors!

On May 1, 2013, the Washington State Food Code designated cut leafy greens as a potentially hazardous food that must be maintained at temperatures of 41°F or below. Click here to find out more information.
