Local Hazardous Waste Management Plan

The Tacoma-Pierce County Local Hazardous Waste Management Plan was created in 1991 in response to the Washington State Hazardous Waste Management Act (RCW 70.105). This Act required local jurisdictions to develop a plan for the safe and responsible management of hazardous wastes generated by residents, and from businesses or institutions generating small quantities of hazardous waste: 1991 LHWMP.

The LHWMP is currently being revised and will incorporate more recent program updates, trends, and survey data to properly characterize current waste management practices and pollution prevention strategies.

Please continue to visit this webpage for future updates on this project, and for the opportunity to provide comments on a draft Local Hazardous Waste Management Plan.
