Hazardous Chemicals Around the Home
All of us use chemicals around our homes. We use them to keep our houses clean, to protect our belongings from the weather, to keep our car running and our lawn green. When using these chemicals, it's important to use them wisely in order to protect your health and the environment. It's also important to properly store these chemicals when they're not being used and to safely dispose of "leftovers" chemicals. Spilled or improperly disposed chemicals can pollute our groundwater, lakes, streams and the Puget Sound.
All City of Tacoma and Pierce County residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste free of charge at household hazardous waste collection sites located at the City of Tacoma Landfill, Hidden Valley Transfer Station or Purdy Transfer Station.
Hours and times vary.
