School Safety
Over 170,000 Pierce County children spend a considerable part of their lives in the school environment. Tacoma Pierce County Health Department promotes school health and safety within the community by:
- Reviewing plans of all new and remodeled school sites;
- Educating school staff about health and safety issues;
- Conducting inspections; and
- Investigating reports of illness and potential safety hazards.
